Last week we had an interesting query on reunion gifts. One of the schools in our community was planning to host a reunion and wanted the best gifts for their ex-students. Though they had boiled down their choices to just two, namely custom apparels and tech products, they were not sure which one to finalize and sought our opinion.

Here are some points that we thought tilted the balance in the favor of apparels as reunion gifts

Apparels like T shirts imprinted with school logo and mascot will enjoy a wide display for a very long time. Though tech gifts are more practical these are more likely to remain indoors – on their wok desks or back packs most of the time.
T shirts are available in various colors and easy to choose these in the school colors. Not many color choices on offer
The generous imprint area will show off your brand and message in style even from a distance. Most tech items like flash drives or powerbanks have a small imprint area, which means that your logo will not be displayed prominently
Apparels like polo shirts can be customized to make team spirit items for your sports leagues as well. Tech items do not fare as well as team spirit items.
T shirts enjoy perennial popularity as the recipients will love to wear these wherever they go. Tech items get replaced much faster with advanced models and may not necessarily have a shelf life as long as T shirts.

The fact that T-shirts have been retaining the top slot among promotional items gives it an added advantage. According to a recent study 77% of consumers retain products for their functional aspects for an average of 8 months and a staggering 85% could recall the advertiser that gave it to them. By handing out these tangible items that the students can use in their daily life, the school can leave its brand close at hand for their students.
